The Salzburg Statement for a Multilingual World launched

On the occasion
of International Mother Language Day (21st February), the Salzburg Global
Fellows released The Salzburg Statement for a Multilingual World, an appeal for
policies that value and uphold multilingualism and language rights.

The document was
originally drafted by participants
of Salzburg Global Seminar’s session on Springboard for
Talent: Language Learning and Integration in a Globalized World
(December 12-17, 2017). The full text of The Salzburg Statement is available
in English and a number of languages (currently 40 and it is still growing).
